Floor buffing and burnishing
A buff or a burnish between strip and wax jobs keeps your floor clean and shining, and keeps it from wearing down to the point where it needs a full restoration.
A facelift, not a restoration
Buffing is the light one. A slow machine and a spray-buff product take off the surface dirt, the scuffs and the marks, and bring some shine back. It's a facelift for the floor, not a full redo.
Burnishing is the same idea at a much higher speed, with a different machine. That's where the real high gloss comes from, the kind you see on the vinyl tile in a grocery store. We do a lot of it in grocery stores, usually monthly between strip and wax jobs, and more often where the traffic is heavy.
A strip and wax is the big one. Everything comes off, the floor goes back to a blank canvas, and fresh coats go on. Buffing and burnishing are how you get more time out of each one of those.
How often it should happen
It comes down to traffic, and how the floor's being looked after between our visits. These are the usual starting points.

A real job
When a buff isn't enough anymore
When the buffing gets skipped, usually other things are getting skipped too. The traffic lane turns grey, then black, and eventually no amount of polishing will bring it back.
